Topic Brainstorm
Greek Mythology:
Greek mythology is a topic that has always interested me. I learned mostly of this topic in school, but at one point I was so interested, I actually bought my own Greek mythology book and started to read the stories on my own. I look forward to analyzing the stories more in depth as I begin to write my own. I understand that it is a very broad topic, so If I was to pick this one, I would try to choose a theme to follow. Some of the themes I am looking at are fate, heroism, or beauty. If I was to choose the theme of fate, I would like to retell the story of the 3 fates.

Italian Fairy Tales:
I am interested in this topic because I come from an Italian background and I like the idea of getting to know my own culture a little bit better. I don’t know much of anything out Italian fairy tales, so there’s a lot to learn. I’m looking forward to learning exactly what kind of tales the people from my culture tell and pass on through the generations. Some of the stories that I’m interested in rewriting are Cinderella and Fair Maria Wood. Both of these stories have familiar concepts, so I would like to rewrite them in a way that is different from any version I have read before.

Gods and Goddesses of Olympus:
This is another topic that caught my eye because it ties into Greek mythology. However, I feel as though I can recreate the stories of the different Gods/Goddesses. Aphrodite and Achilles stories always interested me, so I think it would be interesting to use their characters to tell a different story.

Legendary Creatures of Greek Myth:
If you couldn't tell, I really enjoy greek mythology. It's actually one of the reasons I decided to take this class. I like this topic because it gives a greek myth more depth. Each story has some kind of beast that must be defeated which is why I'd like to learn more about them. Most of the time these creatures can't speak, so for this topic I think I would like to tell one of the stories from the point of view of the creatures.
